Sheila Shanker is a CPA and MBA, a published writer, with many years of experience in various industries. Her background includes start-ups, non-profits, entertainment, insurance, Internet and health related firms. She has worked in many Sarbanes-Oxley Act projects, including writing processes and procedures, testing, evaluating internal controls and dealing directly with outside auditors. She worked with firms such as TetraTech Engineering, Kaiser Permanente, OSI Systems and j2 Communications.

Sheila's consulting experience includes working with Northrop, Sony Pictures Entertainment, International Medical Corp., New Directions,  Elizabeth Glaser Pediatrics Aids Foundation, Dubnoff Educational Center and John Wayne Cancer Research Institute-St. John's Health System.  She was Director of  Finance for Temple Israel of Hollywod (Large temple, 3 schools and an LLC)for a couple of years.  In 2008, she was  Interim Controller for Century City Doctor's Hospital . Sheila has consulted at the Colburn School of Music in 2009.

A firm believer in education, Sheila Shanker has been invited to teach at Santa Monica College, AIU and Devry. She has developed and written online accounting coursework for Thomson Publishing-Education Direct. Sheila has written and developed an online self-study CPE about non-profit organizations' operations and accounting.

Sheila has written questions for the CPA exam.

Sheila is an active member of the AICPA and the California Society of CPAs, where she served onthe State Technology Committee from 2004 to 2006.  She is also a member of CAN- California Association of Non-Profits.

Born and raised in Brazil, Sheila is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish. She also enjoys a good cup of coffee!
